"There is a huge disparity within the black community regarding breastfeeding, and because of this, the rates of infant mortality is up. Why are black women not breastfeeding? There are various reasons. History, socio-economics, racial biases within the medical industry, you name it. They all play a part. I breastfeed because I now realize that breastfeeding is truly amazing for my baby. I breastfeed because I can. I share images of me breastfeeding to show that black women do breastfeed, and to encourage other moms of color. Ten years ago, we didn’t have Instagram. "Welcome to pregnancy in 2020 in the middle of #Covid19 😳 Yesterday, at over 32 weeks pregnant, I had a phone appointment with my doctor and today I had a 5 minute “drive thru” appointment to check my blood pressure and baby’s heartbeat. I’d say this picture is one for the baby book😂🙊 It’s weird to say that I’m sorta just used to the feeling of uncertainty and anxiety of being pregnant during this time, but also that I’m totally at peace with it at this point. I feel sad for those experiencing their first pregnancy this way... but the gift at the end is worth it all”⠀

I have shifts in my mood where I find the positive

I have shifts in my mood where I find the positive and negative in life scenarios sometimes at the same time. Quarantine does some interesting things to my psyche.⠀

A few things that I can do with a little less of but find interesting or funny. ⠀
⠀
⠀
1. The use of “unprecedented times”. 🦠 ⠀
⠀
2. Bad internet during zoom calls (despite how hilarious a robot sounding colleague is - pretty f-ing hilarious) 🤖 ⠀
⠀
3. The explanation of why we can’t have play dates for the millionth time. (Kids never lose hope). 🧒 ⠀
⠀
4. Watching the news filled with clips of people blatantly going against the W.H.O. recommendations. (some of these "hot spots" are so outrageously packed I would never step foot even in a normal circumstance...I digress). Also, what do the people caught in these pictures think about being publicly shamed? 🤔 ⠀ ⠀
5. The McDonald’s commercial that has a damn catchy tune and seems to play on a MF loop. (The “better days” Jeep commercial for that matter - thanks OneRepublic) 🥺 make it stop. ⠀

6. Wiping and washing everything that comes into the house. 📦 + 🍎 🥬 + 🖐🏽⠀

7. Dry AF hands. (Although I think the warm weather is helping). ☀️ ⠀

8. TikTok Challenges (but somehow I can’t stop watching or moving to). 📱💃🏽⠀
